Zakir Pandor

I have been a Governor at Marshfield Primary School for many years now. I am Bradford born and bred and actually attended Marshfield (Priestman as it was previously known) for a short period of time when my family moved to this area. I have spent the last 10 years working self-employed in order to devote more time to my family. With all my children attending Marshfield, I wanted to ensure that it was one of the best schools in the area and would enable all its pupils to achieve their full potential.

I was initially elected as a Parent Governor and attended all Governor meetings at the school and numerous Governor courses and Conferences at our training venue, to improve my effectiveness in the role. After a short period of time I attained the position Vice Chair of Governors and then took up the position of Chair of Governors in 2015. I became a Co Opted Governor as my younger child left Marshfield in 2016.

“I look forward to the challenges ahead and helping the school to achieve all of our goals!"

Sardar Ali Khan

I have been a Governor for several years, helping the school to continue to improve its high standards, so our children can get the best education they deserve. I have extensive experience in working with families and children in a personal, voluntary and paid capacity. I have good experience working with vulnerable people with mental illness, physical disability and drugs abuse. I have acquired this experience working through the Al-Hira (Marshfield Community Centre), BCCP (Bradford City Centre Project) and Khidmat Centre. From the last four years I am working as a support/ administrative assistant at Khidmat Centre helping adults who are suffering from learning disabilities, physical disabilities and mental health issues. In this role my duties include: Assisting in the preparation and implementation of the wide range of day activities as directed by senior Khidmat Centre staff, both for individuals and groups.

As education is the key for the future of Britain, I believe that all children must have a good education; more attention must be focused on those children from poor families and disadvantage background.

Two of the lessons of history are that “change is possible and that most people think that it is impossible”. But I believe that “A journey of a thousand miles starts with one step.”

Anna Barker

I was fortunate enough to be appointed as a co-opted Marshfield Primary School Governor in 2016. I had put myself forward to serve following my recent retirement from an entire career spent in the NHS and having enjoyed fully the educational and organisational part of that role I wanted to “give back” to society some time and offer some of the skills I had acquired whilst working.

I have also used my retirement to increase my commitment to my hobbies. I enjoy swimming, walking and bell ringing and it has been lovely to have a little bit of extra time to support my family and meet up with friends.

It has been a privilege to serve at Marshfield and every time I attend, any event at the school, I am inspired and humbled by the overwhelming spirit of determination, encouragement and self-belief that exists in the school and the school motto “We can dream it. We can do it!” is certainly a perfect statement for the school.

Wahid Hussain Rashid

Hi my name is Wahid Hussain Rashid. I have lived in the local area for most of my life. I have worked in various communities in West Yorkshire over the years. I am currently working for Bradford Children’s Social Care.

I enjoy swimming and traveling and I enjoy meeting new people and learning about different cultures. I wanted to be a governor to help improve the school where my children attend.

John Davie

I am head teacher at All Saints Church of England Primary School in Bradford. I have also worked in primary schools in Calderdale, Lincolnshire, Sheffield and Rotherham. I am married with two children and enjoy cycling, making films, photography and travelling. As a governor at Marshfield, I use my knowledge and experience of primary education to both support and challenge the school in order to help the school continue to develop and improve.

M Bashir
