Our teachers: Miss Ali & Mr Khan
We are writing our own adventure stories based on James and the Giant Peach. We are looking at the brilliant ways the author writes an interesting and exciting story and we using these sentence types in our own writing. Look at some super examples of our work:
In Maths, we have been focusing on our number and mental skills. We are learning how to use different methods to add, subtract, divide and multiply.
Our International Primary Curriculum (IPC) topic this half term is Adventurers and Explorers . We will be finding out about the discoveries of lots of famous explorers such as Ibn Batutta and Neil Armstrong. We are also going to be working on our geographical map skills so that we have the skills to become super explorers too!
Every Wednesday we have P.E. Children are expected to come to school in their P.E. kit (a plain t-shirt, jogging bottoms and trainers) and a water bottle.
Every Friday Year 4’s go swimming! Children need to bring their swimming kit and a towel. Children are also allowed to bring a healthy snack and a bottle of water.
Homework is given out on a Friday and should be returned to school by Tuesday Morning. Spellings will also be given out and children will have to learn the spellings for their spellings test.
Planners must be brought to school every day and signed by a parent or guardian at the end of the week, every week.
We expect children to read at home at least 3 times a week! Once you’ve listened to your child, make a comment and sign it.
