Welcome to Year Voles' Class Page
Teachers: Mrs Ellis, Miss Hannon and Miss Pandor
This Half term we are exploring advertisements. We will be unpicking a variety of texts and identifying their key features. We will then use this knowledge to plan and create our own advertisement.
In Maths, we will be looking at money and different amounts. We will carry out practical activities, use different number operations and solve real life word problems.
Our International Primary Curriculum (IPC) topic this half term is Bright Sparks. We will be exploring electricity, focusing on the Science, Technology, International and History aspects. We are excited to learn about forces, circuits, light, different time periods and the differences between countries. We will be carrying out a number of practical activities and investigations.
Every Tuesday we have P.E. and Outdoor education with a Sports Coach. Children are expected to come to school in their P.E. uniform.
Every Friday Year 4’s go swimming! Children need to bring their swimming kit and a towel. Children are also allowed to bring a healthy snack and a bottle of water.
Homework is given out on a Friday and should be returned to school by Tuesday Morning. Spellings will also be given out and children will have to learn the spellings for their spellings test.
Planners must be brought to school every day and signed by a parent or guardian at the end of the week, every week.
The new planners also include a reading record. We expect children to read at home at least 3 times a week! Once you’ve listened to your child, make a comment and sign it.
