This Half term we are exploring different short stories from other cultures, we are then going to use this knowledge to create our own story.
We will then concentrate on explanation texts and their features so will are able to write our own using what we have learnt.
In Maths we will be continuing to looking at fractions, how to find a fraction of a number and subtracting fractions.
We will then start exploring measurement and the different measurements we use, comparing and measuring.
Children will first be looking at ICT and Computing, looking at online safety and coding.
Our International Primary Curriculum (IPC) topic this half term is How Humans Work. We will explore our bodies; what they need to be strong and healthy, our different muscles and bones and how to plan a healthy meal.
Every Friday we have P.E. and Outdoor education, children are expected to come to school in their P.E. uniform.
Every Friday Year 4’s go swimming! Children need to bring their swimming kit and a towel. Children are also allowed to bring a healthy snack and a bottle of water.
Homework is given out on a Friday and should be returned to school by Tuesday Morning. Spellings will also be given out and children will have to learn the spellings for their spellings test.
Planners must be brought to school every day and signed by a parent or guardian at the end of the week, every week.
The new planners also include a reading record. We expect children to read at home at least 3 times a week! Once you’ve listened to your child, make a comment and sign it.
