Welcome back after the summer! This is an important year for all of the children in year 6 with the SATs coming up in May. We will be working incredibly hard to prepare for these tests so that we can perform our absolute best and the whole year 6 team is sure we will achieve fantastic results!
Over this half term we will be focusing on number and place value, basic arithmetic and the four number operations. This will give us a solid foundation to prepare for our SATs and secure our understanding of pure mathematics.
In English we will be studying Skellig, as well as writing autobiographies and biographies. We will be developing our sentence types and punctuation across a broad range of text types and will be looking in depth at some of the grammar and punctuation that may appear in our SATs tests in May.
LOOK. HEAR! Our topic for this term will focus on light, music and electricity. We will be learning how to play musical instruments in groups, conducting scientific investigations surrounding light and electricity and learning the scientific concepts behind these topics.
This term in RE we will looking at the relationships between different religions and link this to the British Values.
