  • Spellings are also given out on Friday and the following Friday the children will be tested.
  • PE is every Wednesday afternoon. Children must come to school wearing their uniform and change into their P.E kits before dinner. All clothing (including shoes) should be labelled with your child's name.
  • Toast is £1 per week, please bring this on a Monday in an envelope.
  • Juice is 20p. Please give this to your child everyday if they would like some. It is their responsibility to look after it.

Meerkat Mail

Meerkat Mail 1

This half term we are looking at Meerkat Mail.

Why don't you share the story with family members?

This is a fantastic book  gives you an insight into the life of Mr Meerkat who

decides to go on vacation to find out if he can fit into other families.

A great read with outstanding images that can be shared with the entire family.

This Half Term:

English:

In English we are going to be using the stimulus of Meerkat Mail to write exciting narratives, postcards, letters and character descriptions. The children will be introduced to 2A sentences, conjunctions and basic punctuation to reinforce learning from year 1.

Mathematics:

We have an exciting start to year 2!

In Maths we are going to start their learning journey with basic counting skills. Children we will learn to practice counting in steps of 2,5,10 and will be introduced to the four main operations, where they will manipulate numbers practically using base 10.

100 Sight Words Collection for Children - Dolch Top 100 Words by ELF Learning

Learn the 100 Sight Words Collection for Children. The children in Bats use this for their Phonics and handwriting practise to embed the words. If your child does use this, please encourage them to join the letters.

In Year Two to achieve our End of Year targets all the children need to be making joins in their writing. The following website will help your child learn which letters can join and how to join them.
